This episode features a story by Stan Dewitt. I have been friends with Stan for years and he is one of those people who you keep waiting to drop the nice guy routine. He never does because he is incredibly nice and sincere. Stan told this very story at The Moth live. He was nice enough (See!) to come to Tale Spin Studio and record the story for me. I especially like the transition from Stan’s story to his song.

Greggory Moore is an author and musician. I contacted Greggory to ask him to record a story for Tale Spin and not even knowing who I was, he agreed. Our initial recording took place at Devero Sound in North Long Beach. My friend and producer at the time asked Greggory where he knew me from. Greggory said, “I don’t really know.” Which makes it even cooler that he is willing to contribute.
Since we live same neighborhood I had run into Greggory several times including a dancing session with a mutual friend at MADE and he also rescued my daughter from the bathroom at Vente Y Agua. Once you meet Greggory you cannot forget him because he wears perfectly round glasses on his hairless head. It is a great look and impossible to mix him up with any one else.

Personally I am still looking for that accessory that makes me unforgettable. I practice it while I am in my car.
“You know, Melanie.”
“Who?”
“The tall woman with the ferrat on her shoulder.”
or
“That loud chick who forgets to wear pants.”
or
“That woman with the weather vane on top of her head.”
I’m still working on it.
